The Crisis:

To increase homeownership, Seema will advocate for down payment state grant assistance for homeownership. She will stop illegal evictions and introduce a multilingual hotline help for it. Seema will fight to reform property tax foreclosure laws by extended payment plans. She will start state funded Community Land Trusts - families own home, community owns land. She will fight to renovate vacant and run-down homes, and not demolish for luxury apartments. Seema will end conditions for sellers to repossess house for single missed payments and begin alternative (compound interest-free or cooperative) homeownership models. She will introduce rent stabilization - repeal the state law prohibiting rent control. Shew will also mitigate redlining by banks by requiring fair lending practices.

The American Dream is about who gets help and who gets left behind. I am running to make sure our community is never left behind again.
