When corporations prioritize profits over people — buying out hospitals, shifting services out of underserved areas, and paying executives tens of millions — while communities go without basic care — our healthcare dollars leave the district and enter systems that do not answer to the people they serve. That has to change.
To bring back the healthcare dollars to our district , Seema will fight to convert a clinic to a full-service hospital to begin bringing back the $550M. She will defend fully funded healthcare: defend against cuts, promote ACA subsidy restoration & initiate state funds to make up for Medicaid cuts. Seema will initiate community-led Hospital Oversight Boards for financial transparency & protection against corporate buyouts motivated by profit over people. She will also mandate anti-corporate buyout protections requiring community-led Hospital Oversight Board approval before acquisition of healthcare facilities in our district.
